Throughput
Throughput is the number of parts or operations a robot cell completes per unit time. It is the productivity output that cycle time and uptime determine.
Throughput is the rate at which a robotic cell produces finished operations — parts per minute or per hour. It is the practical output measure that buyers and integrators size a system against.
Throughput is a function of cycle time and availability (uptime): a fast cell that stops frequently delivers less than a steady one. Buffering, part presentation, and machine readiness often cap throughput more than raw robot speed.
When comparing used robots for a throughput target, account for realistic uptime and changeover, not just the best-case cycle time. Headroom protects throughput as parts and demand change.
