Machine Vision
Machine vision gives a robot sight via cameras and image processing, letting it locate, inspect, and guide on parts that are not in a fixed position.
Machine vision uses cameras, lighting, and image-processing software to let a robot perceive its environment — finding a part's position and orientation, reading codes, or inspecting quality. Vision turns rigid, fixtured automation into flexible, adaptive automation.
Vision-guided robotics (VGR) lets a robot pick randomly placed parts from a conveyor, bin, or tray (including 3D bin picking) and correct its path to the actual part location. 2D vision handles flat positioning; 3D vision handles depth and pose.
Adding vision to a used robot requires a compatible camera interface and integration effort, but dramatically widens the parts the cell can handle. Confirm the controller supports the chosen vision system.
